The Power of Music

I laugh when people say that the media (yes, the word media is plural) don't affect them. They really don't know how seductive they really are.

If a company pays about a million and a half for a thirty second advertisement on the Super Bowl and it has no effect, it must be crazy. Why would anybody do such a foolish thing if there was no result?

Still think that the media don't manipulate you?

I am going to do a little experiment here. A few days ago, I did my blog on a lion called Christian and how he was released into the wild. His former owners went to see him again and the reunion was caught on film.

I have discovered that there are several versions of this story on YouTube. The footage is pretty much the same in all of them. Concentrate on the actual film and ignore all of the rest. The only difference is the music that is played in the background.

What I ask you do do is to watch all four versions and monitor your feelings to each one. I will say no more, but I think you will understand just how powerful a medium can be.

And one more.

There are a couple of other things to note. If you have watched all four, you will discover that there are various subtle differences in the text and story. One version has many spelling errors that you can miss quite easily. Each one is a version of the "truth" according to the author.

Finally, what is the purpose of each video? Again, there are subtle differences.

So, where do you go for the real truth on the Internet? As you know, there is only one source - The Thoughts of Johnny V.

Johnny V..you are too funny. So, only YOU know the truth?...well to tell you the truth, I thought the first video was the best...and I expected...the first time I saw the video..that the Lion would attack the guy and rip him to bits...and that may have been the outcome....and the media would have presented it to the public. The media knows no bounds these days and has no filter. That is why we are so numb to the terrible things we see every day. It seems routine, exciting and totally acceptable. When we are exposed to such sights and sounds, we become hardened to the plight of others. This, my friend, is the tragedy we will never be able to comprehend.

There, my thoughts...the truth?..only Johnny V can decide...lol

The truth for you is what you believe.
