Rising High

There is nothing like a good old country gospel song. Here is one that I composed many years ago. I have the tune in my head, but I don't know how to write music.

Are you feeling lonely,
As if your life is going to end?
Your spirits can be lifted.
Do not give up, my friend.
It’s when your always feeling down,
That’s when you’re going to fall.
Just look up to the heavens
And rise above it all.

Sing, rising high, rising high.
The storm clouds have moved over.
I’m reaching for the sky.
Yesterday has come and gone,
But the best has yet to come,
And I am sure to get there
If I keep pressing on.

Or is it disappointment
That really makes you sad?
Does fortune frown upon you,
And makes the good turn bad?
Well at the very moment that
You’re up against the wall.
Just look up to the heavens,
And rise above it all.

Sing, rising high, rising high.
The storm clouds have moved over.
I’m reaching for the sky.
Yesterday has come and gone,
But the best has yet to come,
And I am sure to get there
If I keep pressing on
.

Now, when you’re up in heaven,
And your life on earth is done.
You know that life eternal
Will have really just begun.
And when the Father says, “My son,
I heard your every call,
When you’d look up to the heavens,
And rise above it all.”

Sing, rising high, rising high.
The storm clouds have moved over.
I’m reaching for the sky.
Yesterday has come and gone,
But the best has yet to come,
And I am sure to get there
If I keep pressing on.
